Before you hire

  5. Use a written agreement. Hours, pay, duties, and notice period in writing.
  6. Pay through traceable methods. Bank transfer or a payroll service — never untraceable cash for ongoing work.

Red flags

  • Asks to move the conversation off-platform immediately.
  • Requests payment, a deposit, or "fees" before any work is done.
  • Refuses a video interview or in-person trial.
  • Story changes between messages, or won't share verifiable references.
  • Pressure to skip background checks or "trust them."
