How we protect your data
NannyWorld uses the same security model trusted by modern SaaS platforms: every user action is checked against Row-Level Security (RLS) policies, so a user can only read or write data the application explicitly allows. This applies to profiles, messages, applications, reviews, and library purchases.
Authenticated access
Sensitive actions — messaging, applying to jobs, managing subscriptions, and admin tools — require a signed-in account. Passwords are never stored in plain text.
Encrypted in transit & at rest
Traffic is served over HTTPS/TLS and backend data is encrypted by our cloud platform. We do not store payment card numbers; card processing is handled by Stripe.
Role-based controls
Admin privileges are granted through a separate roles table, verified server-side on every request. Users cannot assign themselves admin or verification status.
Community moderation
Reporting and blocking tools let members flag suspicious behavior. Reported content is reviewed and removed when it violates our community rules.
Disputes and problem resolution
If something goes wrong between a family and a caregiver, we provide a structured path to resolution. We do not arbitrate employment contracts or legal claims, but we can help keep the platform safe and document reported issues.
- Report the issue. Use the Report button on any profile, job, message, or book purchase. Include as much detail as you can.
- Block further contact. You can block any user at any time. Once blocked, they cannot message you or see your activity.
- Our team reviews. We typically review reports within 48 hours. We may remove content, suspend accounts, or request additional documentation.
- Escalate outside the platform when needed. For financial disputes, fraud, or safety concerns, we encourage you to contact local authorities or consumer protection services. NannyWorld provides chat records and transaction details to verified law enforcement upon valid legal request.
Before you hire
- Always interview by video. Meet face-to-face before any in-person meeting.
- Check references. Ask for and contact at least two past families directly.
- Verify documents. Confirm ID, certifications, and work eligibility in person.
- Start with a trial. A short paid trial day reveals fit faster than any interview.
- Use a written agreement. Hours, pay, duties, and notice period in writing.
- Pay through traceable methods. Bank transfer or a payroll service — never untraceable cash for ongoing work.
Red flags
- Asks to move the conversation off-platform immediately.
- Requests payment, a deposit, or "fees" before any work is done.
- Refuses a video interview or in-person trial.
- Story changes between messages, or won't share verifiable references.
- Pressure to skip background checks or "trust them."
See something? Report it.
Every profile, job, message, and book listing has a Report option. Our team reviews reports within 48 hours and removes anything that breaks our community rules. You can also block any user from contacting you again.
